Hi -

 Here is an update on all of our Junior Optimist Club Projects. If you are not sure which team your child is on, please check the attached PDF:

Project FISH - This group will be meeting tonight at the Costick Center at 6:00pm. Several children had expressed an interest in this group only if they would be able to enrol in the event rather than work at the event. If your child is one of these, we can arrange that. There are going to be 2 half-day sessions, and your child could work at one and enroll in the other.

Also, children will have the opportunity to take the training course and become instructors if they want to. The Project FISH team will be running a booth at next week's No Child Left Inside (see attached) at the Costick Center. Plans also call for a float in the Founder's Festival Parade and some other neat events. If you are not currently on this team, but would like to be, please let me know or come to the meeting tonight at 6:00pm at the Costick Center.

Project Mini-Golf - This group had their first meeting last week at ZapZone. The event will be held on the morning of May 15, at the same time as the Junior Golf Tournament at Farmington Hills Golf Club. The mini-golf event is for ages 5-11, the junior golf event is for ages 12-18. The team worked on plans for the event and assigned tasks. The event will include a competitive round of miniature golf, pizzaand soda lunch, 16 tokens, a medallion for participating and trophies for the winners in 3 different age brackets.

Project SAFE - This team will be meeting on Tuesday night, March 23 at Highmeadow in the LGI room. This will be the planning session for the stuffed animal collection drive. The stuffed animals will go to the local chapter of this national organization, and be distributed to LifeFlight and other first responders as needed.

Project TAFFY - This group will likely also meet next week, although we do not yet have a time and place set. The Project is a Charity Garage Sale, more details on this in a in a day or two.

We still have several children who have not ordered t-shirts or turned in registration forms. Please check the attached PDF file, and send in if needed. a REGISTRATION FORM IS ATTACHED.  The t-shirt order will go in next week. Don't send any money, just let me know the size.
