The Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimist Breakfast Club hosted the Optimist Essay contest for 2018-2019.

The topic was: “When all the World's Problems are Solved, is Optimism Still Necessary?”

This is open to students in 7 & 8th grades and 9 - 12th grades.

All students who enter must either go to school or live within the Farmington/Farmington Hills boundaries. There is a medal and a cash prize for the top 3 in 7th & 8th grades and for the top 3 in 9th - 12th grades. All contestants at each level must show proof of age either with a copy of a birth certificate or passport.

Winning students and their families are invited to a breakfast and given their awards at John Cowleys Restaurant downtown Farmington on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7:30 am.

The deadline to enter is Tuesday January 22, 2019.
